چکیده

Mer protein has not been classified beyond the scope of its signaling activity. In this paper, the entire Mer protein sequences have been quantified, and a set of clusters have been made to explore the similar behaviors of Mer protein in a quantitative manner. Previous studies have established that Mer proteins have an important role in cancer biology, so for identifying potential strategies it is highly needed to understand the Mer proteins in a quantitative manner for throwing new light in the complex activity of cancer formation. Our results identify several classes of Mer proteins having some similar function. Keywords— Indicator matrix, Fractal Dimension, Mer proteins, Dendogram.

Different Expression of Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinases (ERK) 1/2 and Phospho-Erk Proteins in MBA-MB-231 and MCF-7 Cells after Chemotherapy with Doxorubicin or Docetaxel

Objective(s) Curative treatment of breast cancer patients using chemotherapy often fails as a result of intrinsic or acquired resistance of the tumor to the drug. ERK is one of the main components of the Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK cascade, which mediates signal from cell surface receptors to transcription factors to regulate different gene expression. In this study, cytotoxicity and the expression of Erk...

NcPred for Accurate Nuclear Protein Prediction Using n-mer Statistics with Various Classification Algorithms

Prediction of nuclear proteins is one of the major challenges in genome annotation. A method, NcPred is described, for predicting nuclear proteins with higher accuracy exploiting n-mer statistics with different classification algorithms namely Alternating Decision (AD) Tree, Best First (BF) Tree, Random Tree and Adaptive (Ada) Boost. On BaCello dataset [1], NcPred improves about 20% accuracy wi...

A Novel Classification Method using Effective Neural Network and Quantitative Magnetization Transfer Imaging of Brain White Matter in Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis

Background: Quantitative Magnetization Transfer Imaging (QMTI) is often used to quantify the myelin content in multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions and normal appearing brain tissues. Also, automated classifiers such as artificial neural networks (ANNs) can significantly improve the identification and classification processes of MS clinical datasets. Objective: We classified patients with relapsing-r...

CHARACTERIZATION OF HIGH MOBILITY GROUP NONHISTONE PROTEINS FROM DIFFERENTIATED NEUROPHILIC GRANULOCYTES

The quantitative changes of the high mobility group (HMG) nonhistone chromosomal proteins in nondividing, differentiated peritoneal exudate neutrophils were identified by their solubility, electrophoretic mobility on both SDS and acetic acid gels, densitometric traces and elution profile on CM-sephadex. The results indicated that in neutrophils, HMGl undergoes a considerable reduction (80%...
